Almost there…

Hello all!  I’m counting down the days until the screening at Splash Studios on the 28th, followed immediately by my first film festival submission to the Palm Springs Shortfest on March 1st. Everything is coming together and it’s very exciting! Here are some more details on what’s been going on lately:

It’s a Boy!
I’d like to congratulate Angela and Chris Izzo on the birth of their fourth child, Owen Christopher Izzo, who was born at 10:30 AM on Monday, February 21, 2011. Owen was 6 lbs, 9 oz and 19 1/2” long. Now Angela can use all those sleepless night staying up with the baby to work on more wallpaper and other related media for Quick Shop! 😉  Just kidding Angela, take it easy and enjoy the new bundle of joy. Congratulations!

Updated Trailer
I reworked the teaser trailer a bit, made it 30 seconds long (mostly for film festivals), and had Steve Davit compose a new score for it.   You can view it on YouTube or watch it on the Media Page. Nice job on the score Steve!

The Score
I have been working hard with Steve Davit and Chris Gordon to finish up the score for Quick Shop. I even managed to slip in a song from Tommy Murray (One-Day Seminar), which was cool because I wanted him to help out in same way with Quick Shop. Dave Hoffman just finished up some beautiful piano music for the opening and closing credits, as well as the music for the DVD menu. And finally, I was able to take some of the muzak that Ray Ferretti wrote for One-Day Seminar, run it through a bypass filter to make it sound like it was coming over some crappy speakers, and have it play in the background during the scenes inside the Quick Shop.

Thanks to all of these musicians for all their help, hard work and talent. You guys rock and this movie wouldn’t be anywhere near what it is today without it!

The Mercury
Dave Hoffman just had an article posted on The Mercury (a local newspaper in the Pottstown area) containing an interview with him, and he mentions his work on Quick Shop. Congrats on the publicity and thanks for the shout-out Dave!

So here’s a list of film festivals that I’m definitely planning on submitting Quick Shop to (with the state in parenthesis), in order of Date:

  • Southside Film Festival (PA)

  • Hollyshorts Film Festival (CA)

Wallpaper
I created some Quick Shop wallpaper for your widescreen monitors based off Angela’s wonderful poster artwork. You can find it on the Media page.

I guess that’s about it for now. I’m just putting the finishing touches on the movie in preparation for Monday. I will Tweet and blog again on Tuesday night and tell you all how it went.  Until then…
