Well, it’s been a heck of a few months…I got caught up in a home improvement project which pretty derailed pre-production on Quick Shop. Another unscheduled meeting with John Leary my screenwriter and now I’m back on it! I have John tweaking the script to fit the Andre Farms location, and I’m in the process of finding actors for our lead roles. I will also be asking Grover Silcox and Anne Cronk back into the fold for Quick Shop. Lori Warsing will once again help produce this one.

Hello and welcome to the Movies by Martin blog! I’m starting this today to mark the “official” start of pre-production on my next short movie, currently titled Quick Shop. At lunch today I visited Andre Farms, a small meat market in Oley, PA. I had talked to Patty (one of the owners) last week about using it as the main location for the shoot. Today I talked with the other owner Ted who was really nice. He agreed to let us shoot there and even gave me a tour.
Now I have to go back and rework the script to cater to this specific location. If all goes well we’ll shoot at Andre Farms sometime over the summer…probably towards the end. There’s still a lot I need to do…like find my two leading men. I’m going to be hitting up a fellow co-worker of mine for help on that, as she works for the Pottstown Performing Arts Center and volunteered to help me with a casting call.
I guess that’s about it for now…I’ll keep this blog updated during pre-production as much as possible.
