Quick Shop

I’m happy to announce that Quick Shop’s first review has been posted over at theindependentcritic.com. Critic Richard Propes had originally reviewed my first short film One-Day Seminar back in 2008, and had some really nice things to say about Quick Shop. He ended up giving it 2.5 out of 4 stars (B-)…thanks for the kind words Richard!

I have also created a new Reviews page which will list out each review of Quick Shop.

Quick Shop has now been submitted to a total of 19 film festivals. I have also just started the process of submitting it to 9 review sites. Very exciting times as I wait to hear back from the festivals and reviewers! I will post any acceptances and reviews on this blog as I receive them.

Quick Shop had its world premiere at the Lancaster Area Film Festival this past Saturday. We had a good crowd at our screening and I must say, we got a lot more laughs than I expected. People actually laughed at the parts that I thought would be funny…it was pretty cool!

I really have to thank everyone who made it out there to support the film. Aimee and Tom were there from the cast, as well as my family, my wife’s family and even some friends from work. I really appreciate all your support and I hoped you liked the finished product.

I also got the opportunity to see Luke Matheny’s film God of Love, the winner of the 2011 Academy Award for best live action short film. I have to admit, it was very well done. It had a good script, was well shot and well acted by Mr. Matheny. He deserves all the credit he’s getting for the film.

I added some pictures from the festival (most of them taken by the guys who ran the festival) to the media page. I wish I would have taken some pictures of me, Tom and Aimee but it just plain slipped my mind. Oh well, I’m hoping we’ll have other photo ops at some other festivals 🙂

The Lancaster Area Film Festival posted their schedule today. There will be a total of four blocks of short films being shown on two screens. Quick Shop is in the first block which starts at 12:00 PM.

I’m hoping a lot of people can make it to the premiere of Quick Shop. If you’re planning on attending, send me an e-mail and let me know. I’m certainly planning on sticking around for the second block in our theater (10), to see the Oscar-winning short God of Love. Should be a good one! Keep in mind that tickets are $16. Hope to see you there!
